This session will be about how to teach students to think like a scientist. This is a versatile problem-solving skill set that is important not only for scientists, but also for firefighters, forensic investigators, medical professionals, and all functional adults who live on their own. I'll show teachers how to walk students through different kinds of real-life-problem-solving exercises, like what to do if you or a loved one gets injured or sick (especially a serious diagnosis like cancer or a rare disease), what to do if you hear a strange noise alone at night, how to find the answer to a question you're wondering about, or how to investigate a novel scientific question.
